ArtBot is a kit specifically designed to teach you about engineering. Two options are available for registration: The at Home kits give your child the opportunity to build ArtBot while following along with the instruction provided within the Kit The live online course give your child the opportunity to build ArtBot while following along during a live presentation from The Science Explorers. What age range are the kits for? Working with an adult ages, 8+ Working under adult supervision, ages 12+. This Kit Contains The Following STEM Science Projects: Engineering: Take your first steps into engineering by designing and building your own Art-Bot. These fun and silly robots are popular with both children and adults. Using the Activity Guide, with detailed picture instructions, the fun begins as you build your own Art-Bot with a motor, battery holder and more! Then, give your robot a personality with the craft supplies included in the kit. This STEM kit is not just hands-on....it is hands-in. WARNINGS: Items in this kit are for external use only. Do not eat or drink any substance contained in this kit. Keep out of eyes, nose, and mouth. This kit contain citric acid, which is a naturally occurring weak acid found in fruit. Cooking/Baking for BeginnersYouth EnrichmentJoin our instructor, Marie Spott, for this NEW class that will teach your children how to cook and bake. In this class, your child will learn some of the basics of cooking/baking and will prepare make-and-take dishes that they can share at home. This class will be held for three (3) weeks and will feature a breakfast, dinner and dessert. Week 1: French Toast Hot Dish Week 2: Spinach and Cheese Lasagna Roll-ups Week 3: Chocolate Trifle An additional charge for the cost of ingredients will be needed for this class. Cost will range from $20-25 dollars depending on the number of participants.Winter/Spring 21

WaitlistPediatric First Aid CPR AED / Heartsaver®Youth EnrichmentA video-based, instructor-led course that will teach you critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is intended for ROCORI students age 11-16 who have taken our Home Alone and/or Babysitting course, although this is not a requirement. To receive a card after the completion of the course, please bring $10 to class.Winter/Spring 21

The Science of Slime is a kit specifically designed to teach you about chemical reactions. Two options are available for registration: The at home kits give your child the opportunity to create slime while following along with the instruction provided within the Kit The live online program gives you child the opportunity to create slime while following along during a live presentation from The Science Explorers. What age range are the kits for? Working with an adult ages, 8+ Working under adult supervision, ages 12+. This Kit Contains The Following STEM Science Projects: Science of Slime: you will first investigate the chemical reaction that creates slime. Mix up your own batches of Glow, Silky and Foam Slimes as you discover why slime is delightfully bouncy, stretchy and gooey. WARNINGS: Items in this kit are for external use only. Do not eat or drink any substance contained in this kit. Keep out of eyes, nose, and mouth. States of Matter and Electromagnets is a kit specifically designed to teach you about STEM related topics. What age range are the kits for? Working with an adult ages, 8+ Working under adult supervision, ages 12+. This Kit Contains The Following STEM Science Projects: States of Matter: Explore the three most common States of Matter in our environment: a solid, liquid and a gas. As your child conducts the three fun and exciting experiments from the Activity Guide, they will be learning that: a solid has a stable shape, a liquid will take on the shape of the container holding it, and that a gas has no shape. Electromagnet Kit: Build and test an electromagnet and learn how the electromagnetic field was first discovered. WARNINGS: Items in this kit are for external use only. Do not eat or drink any substance contained in this kit. Keep out of eyes, nose, and mouth. This kit contain citric acid, which is a naturally occurring weak acid found in fruit. The Young Inventors Kit is a child's first step into tinkering and inventing. You don’t need to have gray hair and wrinkles to be an inventor. Children are natural inventors and are curious and imaginative all on their own. Did you know that a child invented the popsicle or that a 16 year old invented the trampoline? Encourage your child's tinkering spirit with this fun and engaging kit as they build an electrical circuit and learn about pneumatics. What age range are the kits for? Working with an adult ages, 8+ Working under adult supervision, ages 12+. This Kit Contains The Following STEM Science Projects: pH Testing: Step into your own science lab to test the pH of six everyday substances. The exciting part of testing for pH is that the mixture changes color. The final color will indicate if the substance tested is an acid, a base or a neutral. This experiment will have your child excited about the science side of STEM! Plus, enough pH indicators will be provided so this experiment can be conducted again to test other items found around your home. Crazy Catapults: Then, build three different catapults to examine how levers, energy, and Newton's Laws of Motion all work together as you fling ping-pong balls while practicing your launching and aiming skills.
